I met Wei in French class in high school, back of the class more specifically, where the yappers were sent. Wei and I were two peas in a pod. Extroverted and incredibly sociable, we became instant friends. I credit Wei for a lot of my happiness in high school and the friends I met thru him, that nurtured and shaped me. I don’t have too many memories without him from that time. We also went to University of Washington together, alongside our huge group of friends and stayed in touch ever since. He was even there at my wedding, so as you can imagine, when he called me to ask me to shoot his wedding in 2020 in LA, I was BEYOND excited. Then the pandemic happened and they postponed the wedding UNTIL the time came to get hitched!

Wei and Shirley compliment one another in a way I’ve never seen before. Wei is basically the male version of me but Shirley is calm and collected, sweet and quietly funny. And together, they’re head over heels in love with one another. Wei often tells anyone who will listen how Shirley in his mind is like a literal angel. Their friends love them wholeheartedly and being around them is a joy.

Shirley and Wei got married at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton, CA. And though it was INCREDIBLY hot that day, the breeze flowing thru the vineyard and the hills casting shade over us, made the whole day a magical one.

Once the ceremony was over, we entered the beauuuutiful hall at Ruby Hill Winery and celebrated these two lovebirds, followed by sunset photos and another outfit change from the bride!

There I am – sweaty and tired but deliriously happy! Such an honor and joy to be there for my high school friend!
