A while ago, my beautiful friend Erika Worth (the genius behind ROAR Voices) asked me to speak on stage at the Kiggins Theatre for her show on Bodies.
My first thought was “ABSOLUTELY NOT”. My second thought was “OVER MY DEAD BODY”. Who the hell am I to speak in front of a huge crowd? What on earth would I even talk about?!
Then I spent a week contemplating running away on a deserted island because Erika is one of the most determined humans on earth. Eventually, I came around to the unavoidable fact that I had to do it.
This story is the story of my life. The story of my love for photography.
I spoke for too long, I swore, I laughed at my own jokes and I did a terrible job of holding back tears.
BUT I SPOKE THE TRUTH.
I hope it helps you find the courage to do stupid scary things. I hope you find the courage to speak your truth, whatever that may be.
