I met Madeline shooting Sara and Stefano’s wedding and remember how much I loved her thick glorious bangs. She was one of Sara’s bridesmaids and was so funny, smart and sweet – just my kind of gal… and then to get the call that she wants me to shoot HER wedding in Seattle? I was in 100%!
This wedding was easily one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever been to or shot at. Seriously. Here’s my top five reasons why:
- THE WHOLE WEDDING PARTY (and me!) got to ride around Seattle ON A FRICKIN’ SCHOOL BUS! The whole gang sang “Going to the chapel” on the way and it nearly brought me to tears to experience that kind of spontaneous joy.
- The ceremony took place at the MOST BEAUTIFUL Catholic Chapel. My second shooter and I got to shoot from the top balcony looking down on the most amazing chapel. We even climbed a side tower and got to look at the city skyline…
- The reception was at THE ZOO! THE ZOO.
- The dress! The bangs! The shades! The florals! Seriously the attention to detail was IMPECCABLE. I probably shot the largest number of frames that day.
- The emotions. Oh how many tears…. I cried from the moment the mother of the bride and grandmother spoke, all the way until the surprise father-daughter dance.
I could talk about this day on and on for days, but instead I’ll do what all creatives do, and I’ll let my art speak for me.
Madeline and Elliot – THANK YOU. Not just for trusting me to document your beautiful wedding day (which is an honor I never take for granted) but also for allowing me to experience such a special day, filled with great moments, thousands of photo opportunities and sprinkled with moments that still give me goosebumps today. You shared a gem of a day with us all and that is exactly the kind of thing you guys do that make everyone in your life love you so damn much. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, laughter and joy.
